COTA FAN ZONE EVENT WEB APP

MOBILE FIRST
With bandwidth availability concerns always at top of mind for attendees and marketers at high traffic gatherings such as sporting events or festivals, developers for need to be savvy when it comes to creating a quality user experience. The COTA Fan Zone Event Web App responsive web app was created as lightweight as possible and still maintain a high polish.

Every “Zone” related activity was concepted with the mobile user in mind and then “zoomed out” to make sure the tablet and desktop user wasn’t getting left out in the cold with a terrible Fan Zone experience.

The COTA team was not looking for another mobile app for this years F1 event, considering they had 3 of them for last years events and all underperformed as well as cannibalized off of each other. Our platform simply creates a fully responsive event web app environment, that leverages the use of a single platform backend which can effectively and quickly influence every touchpoint from desktop, to tablet, to mobile – all without having to duplicate efforts. We even took the responsive concept and potential limitation of “single user experience” to another level by tailoring the offerings depending where the person is interacting with COTA Fan Zone, whether it be at The Circuit, Downtown or Virtually from their own armchair.

 

HIGH CONVERSION

We had a 24% registration conversion rate from an event that hosted 200k+ fans which attended the F1 races this past October 31 – November 2. This did not include the Fan Fest, which was held in downtown Austin, though our app covered the experience with a fully searchable map and area specific activities. The campaign generated 68 Million social media impressions, 1,400 hours of engagement and approximately 14 interactions (polls, trivia, codes, etc.) per user over three days.

 

VERSATILE PLATFORM FOR EVENT WEB APP DEPLOYMENT
Total time spent to create the COTA Fan Zone experience using the Lodestone platform was 1 Month and 17 Days. Outside of the normal offerings the Lodestone platform module mix already has baked in like: social fan feeds, code for content/coupons/prizes unlock, purchasable upgrades, points system, rewards store, and trivia/polling modules — we created an upgrade/purchase app, an immersive and searchable map experience, a scheduling system, and area specific activation protocols.
