When Major League Baseball decided to create an all inclusive loyalty program for each team that would connect purchases, social media, in venue activation, mobile app integration, promotions and sponsorships they turn to Lodestone.

The Dodgers Rewards program is an example of how the MLB has deployed their flagship rewards program.


THE OBJECTIVE
• Connect every fan touch point to a rewards platform. This included fan activity from purchases online, in-stadium, social media activity, visits to the website, mobile app integration, sweepstakes and more.

• Provide an avenue for sponsorship and promotional integration

• Increase reach and awareness for each team on social media platforms

THE SOLUTION
The MLB utilized Lodestone to create a rewards program for all teams that integrated the following components into a fan loyalty program and second screen experience. Fans sign in through a Single Sign On experience. Fans earn points for ticket purchases, merchandise, MLB TV and in-stadium concessions. In some cases fans earn double points for using special credit cards like MasterCard. Fans earn points for downloading the MLB At The Ballpark app, checking into games, watching video and more. Fans also earn points for visiting specific sections of the team’s websites. In addition fans can earn points for engaging with the teams Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
